The Fabulous Find Resale Boutique in Kittery, Maine has selected ARCH as one of their non-profit recipients for the month of November 2021. Proceeds from everything that is sold in the shop for the entire month will be shared with us!
HOW IT WORKS
Each month, three non-profits are granted the opportunity to raise money by bringing in gently used clothing, jewelry and home decor items for resale and then encouraging their supporters to come in and shop! At the end of the month, all profits are distributed equally among the three organizations. The Fabulous Find has given away over 2 million dollars since opening in July 2010. This is an AMAZING opportunity to raise money for ARCH and the Wentworth House!
What you can do
- Get ready to donate!! Now is the time to start gathering your gently used clothing, etc. for resale. Perfect time for a little fall cleaning!
- Bring your donations to the Fabulous Find starting on Monday, November 1st. They are located at 139 State Road in Kittery – right off the 236 traffic circle.
- Please share this terrific news with everyone you can! Spreading the word can make a real difference!
- Come shop at the Fabulous Find any day in November! Proceeds for everything that is sold in the shop for the entire month will be shared with us.
WHAT TO DONATE
Remember there‘s a customer for all tastes and styles… so while you may not like a certain item, there’s someone out there who will! Here are a few ideas of what works well at the shop:
- Antiques and Collectibles: Small boxes, silver items, small pin trays, hair ornaments (combs, barrettes hand mirrors, etc)
- Artwork: Framed prints and original artwork, boxed note cards, museum replica jewelry
- Home Decor: Table linens, quilts, handmade rugs, accent mirrors, accent furniture (small)
- Books in almost new condition: Home decorating, craft books, popular novels, and art books are popular!
- DVDs: No VHS tapes, please
- Decorative textiles: Old sewing items, silver thimbles, needle cases, pincushions
- Jewelry: Costume, antique, modern, what have you!
- Handbags: Tote bags, all kinds of small bags, leather, beaded, etc
- Better Quality Clothing: Including scarves and accessories.
- Footwear: Those nice shoes you bought and never wear because they just don’t fit right!
- Things that you were given as gifts that you never use!
Items that Fabulous Find does not accept
There are a few items that Fab Find cannot accept. Save these for your summer yard sale!
- Large Furniture: The Fabulous Find is not able to accept mattresses, bed frames, office furniture, etc. (If in doubt, call the store!)
- Reference Books: No encyclopedias or textbooks!
- Old Books: New or nearly-new books are welcome, however!
- No Computers, TVs, or Electronics
- VHS Tapes and Cassettes (DVDs are welcome!)
- No Baby Furniture or Toys: No used puzzles, games, or children’s clothing.
Remember, everything you donate and the proceeds for everything that is sold in the shop for the entire month will be shared with us. Let’s see what we can do!
