June 19 Workshop: Making an 18th Century Pocket

Have you ever wondered how 18th century women carried their belongings with them? Yes, with pockets, but not in the form we think of today!

Join Janith Bergeron, co-founder of the Sewing Tree and owner of Designs by Janith, as she guides this one-day workshop. The workshop will offer a unique opportunity to learn about hand-needle stitching. We will explore various types of embroidery as we design a pocket, which will then be hand stitched together, using many of the techniques and stitches from the era.

Registration includes the Pocket Kit, which will include linen fabric, lining, biding, needles, and floss. If possible, students should bring small scissors, pin cushion, magnifying glass, needle threader, thimble, and a lunch. For additional information, email: designsbyjanith@gmail.com.
