Natural Fiber Day: Cotton Edition!
Join the Southeast New Hampshire Spinning Guild for a day of education and spinning as we learn all about the incredible cotton flower!
There will be a free table, a table for used equipment, and hourly prize drawings for fiber! Bring your wheels, spindles, lunch, and other fibers to spin for the day.

10:30 Workshop: Wheel Care: Maintenance Tips to Ready Your Wheel for Any Fiber offered by Catherine Crooker
12:30- 3:30 Workshop: Spinning Cotton offered byDonna Kay
Have you ever tried spinning cotton? Afraid that it will be a disaster? Come spend a few hours learning about and playing with different types of cotton.
Donna will give you techniques and tips for adjusting your wheel and drafting methods. If you have a support spindle, please bring it along – they are not just for wool! You may be pleasantly surprised how easy cotton can be to work with! Donna will demonstrate how to further prepare the cotton, including carding punis and blending.
Please bring a wheel with the smallest whorl you have (or a lace flyer). If you are a spindle spinner, bring a tahkli (or other support spindle) or a suspended spindle (less than 1 oz). We will work with what you have!
This event is free and open to all courtesy of the Southeast New Hampshire Spinning Guild!
