July 16: The Coming Storm: A New Hampshire Household Prepares for War

Interact with historical re-enactors as they go about domestic chores such as hearth cooking, sewing, gardening, and child care, and also prepare for war at this living history event.

It’s July 1775, and the past few months have seen open fighting between New Englanders and the king’s troops at Lexington and Concord and at Bunker Hill. The local community has rallied around the Wentworth House as a site for gathering supplies for the troops surrounding Boston, for local men to train and prepare to leave home, and for the women of the town to share the latest news.
